That title is not this author speaking just towards himself. This author wants YOU to be saying and declaring this for yourself, for this to be your own personal experience. This can be your actual experience. It ought to be. It is God’s will and provision for you and me.
The Word of God is the most important thing in the Christian’s life. It is the story of God and Man. It is the will of God revealed to us. It is God speaking to us. It is the means by which we obtain Faith, which is needed to carry out every single victory in the Christian life. It’s what gives us authority, or authorization, to carry out all the work He has assigned you and me to do in the earth. He has magnified His Word above all His name. Everything passes away, with one exception: His Word! It both lives and it abides forever. Finally, He is Himself one with the Word. In fact, He is the Word (John 1:1; Rev. 19:13). You cannot separate the Word from the Person.
Much thanks to the ministry of Rhonie McBerry, on whose website this article is appearing. It is appearing in a new section, called “More of Him”. If you truly desire more of Him, if you really mean it, then the Word will have to take a “more” part of our lives. Much more. Then and only then can we actually change, actually be transformed. We are only as good as we are filled up with the living Word of God. The question is, How much do you want this? Anything in God is a function of how badly we want it. Now God never makes us beg or grovel or prolong the thing. But He is looking for seriousness in our seeking Him. “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
We all know the Matthew 4:4 verse (the ‘Man shall not live by bread alone’ verse), but I think we sometimes fail to appreciate its full thrust. Man LIVES by the Word of God. LIVES. (If you’re not living, you are dying.) By every Word of God and all the Word of God. The Word that just doesn’t get spoken by Him, but the Word that proceeds out of His mouth. Like a procession. Like a flow. Full, full, full, the life of God it is. It is God-breathed. “My words, they are spirit and they are life” (John 6:63b).
The Word is alive. It is powerful. The entrance of His Word changes things. It gets things done. It gets things done inside of us. It gets things done in our everyday lives and family. Aaah, it is supposed to be getting a whole lot of things done for others, through us.
My point is this should be the level at which we are all operating. We may be at different places of growth. But we are all supposed to be growing up. Grown-up believers are the ones in whom the Word works mightily and things are happening in your life and around you. And there is no such thing as just a little. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us …” (Eph. 3:20).
When you are filled with the Word and it becomes alive in you, you become a flame for God. Rivers of living water are inside you and they pour out on people God brings across your path. This is not a small thing. Those rivers can soak people by His Spirit and they will never be the same again. Real people can come in contact with you and God will use you to deliver people from real bondage or speak a word in season or light a fire in another person. It becomes an unlimited source of life inside you and we have the opportunity to minister life to people everywhere we go. In ways that are much more than we’ve been used to date. If this has not been our experience, do we want it? Do we want more of this kind of life? There are a ton of people waiting out there, for you and me.
When the Word is in you, IT IS SPIRIT AND IT IS LIFE. That Word works in you and in the power of the Holy Spirit, it can work mightily in you and people are touched by God, sometimes one person, sometimes many.
You’ve heard the expression “one word from God can change your life forever”. You might be the one God uses to touch someone in that way. That should be happening regularly. God is results-driven. We are to bear much fruit. You can’t bear good fruit, without being filled with the Word.
It is impossible for the Word to fail. Take Him at His Word. Give the Word first place. The Word always has the power within itself, to come to pass. He watches over His Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12). His Word never ever returns void, it gets the exact result He says (Isaiah 55:11). Even angels attend to the voice of the Word, arranging events and pieces in the earth and making things happen (Psalm 103:20).
Dearest brothers and sisters, what absolutely glorious things await us if we would be filled to full with His Word in us. We come out of ourselves and we become doers. Where the devil is, we become armed and dangerous. Where people are suffering, we become answers. Where we need answers, they are assured and fully guaranteed. There are no limits for us who dare to believe.
