Recently, I had gone to lunch, and to my surprise, I was full before I had finished eating. That doesn’t usually happen. If ya know me and my metabolism and how much I like french fries, ya know the fries usually don’t stand a chance against my appetite. 😁 Well, I had about 8 french fries left and I didn’t eat them. Why? Because I had had enough.
Sometimes, we feel obligated to take or eat or accept something just because it was presented or given to us. However, there comes a time when enough is enough. When is enough enough for you? Are your “french fries” disguised as people that drain you? Are your “french fries” disguised as taunting and torment from your past? Are your “french fries” disguised as guilt and unforgiveness? What is stagnating you? What is hindering you? Are your “french fries” negative and hurtful words that were spoken to you and you can’t seem to let go of them? Just because the fries were served to you, doesn’t mean you have to eat them. Just because negativity is presented to you, doesn’t mean it becomes your appetizer. Just because thoughts of unforgiveness may come to your mind doesn’t mean it has to become your main course. Forgive them, forgive yourself, and with God’s strength, you can move on.
It’s time to say enough is enough. Leave the toxic “fries” on the plate and smile knowing that your Heavenly Father will provide your next meal and everything you need. Enough of the negativity. Enough of the doubt. Enough of the worry. Enough of beating yourself up. Read and feast on God’s Word. Not only will you be encouraged, have peace, and get the answers that you need, but you’ll never get full.
