Building Intimacy with God
One of the most fulfilling relationships you can develop is a relationship with the Lord. Oftentimes we work hard on building relationships with one another but never take the time to build a strong one with the Lord.
I’m talking about closeness with God where you feel open enough to be totally honest in expressing your thoughts to Him. It’s possible! Intimacy with God doesn’t just arise from nowhere and like any relationship it must be cultivated and developed through time spent together.
Prayer is the most enduring way to gain a close relationship with the Lord because it is the form of communication between you and God. Jesus closed the gap that divided us and now we may commune with God unashamedly.
As you grow in communication with one another the natural outcome is a stronger bond. God yearns for that time and your Spirit has a deep yearning for that time as well. What a place of extreme humbleness to know that God wants to dwell with you in such an intimate way.
The optimal result will be an increased level of adoration and confidence in God who has designed you to glorify Him. This section focuses on prayers that are meant to draw you nearer to God putting away guilt or shame which often keeps us from going deeper in the Lord.
Soon you will be building an open and honest relationship with the Lord allowing you to embrace His love. That love will surround you in amazing ways as you embark on this lifelong journey. There’s no end to where your relationship will go as you trust and depend on Him.
You will soon find yourself sharing your ups and downs and following His lead. That is true intimacy with the Lord. I am thrilled about this journey you are about to embark upon.

Father,
Today I make a decision that will change my relationship with you from this day forward. I’m making a choice to open my heart completely to the view of Your gaze.
I’ve kept my heart on limited access to You, but that ends now as I open every secret compartment. You now have a full entry which will allow us to commune together in one accord. It’s completely necessary that we exam life together unhindered by trust issues on my part.
Permeate my heart until all uncertainty is pushed out. My vulnerabilities are safe with You!
