What Do You Have In Your Hand?

“WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HAND”

           EXODUS 4:1-5

Have you ever wanted to do something but didn’t do it because you felt like you didn’t have anything to work with? Me to. lol, But even though you feel like there is nothing to work with, that’s not necessarily true.

A lot of times, GOD will give us a desire or a vision to do something but we won’t do it because we don’t feel like we have everything we need to do it. We want all the resources right there at our fingertips and everything in place, where we can see the end from the beginning. That’s not Faith! We look for the big thing that draws attraction or substance in other places and if we don’t have that “BIG THING”, we become complacent and never get started. GOD is looking at you saying “WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HAND”? 

Often, we have something in our hands and we don’t know the power that’s in it. For example, you might be a preacher but don’t preach because you don’t have a church. You’re looking for the BIG thing, the BIG church so you can preach in front of the BIG congregation. BUT GOD SAYS “what’s in your hand”?

You have that BIBLE in your hand! and THE WORD OF GOD in your heart, and a mouth to speak. You can start a street ministry, preach at prayer breakfast, preach in the prisons.

Go wherever there is an open door until GOD elevates you. 

Maybe you can sing, or rap but you don’t use your gift because you want someone to pay for your studio time, promote your music, and shoot your videos. You’re looking for substance in other places when the BIBLE says in    

1 Thessalonians 5:24 (KJV)

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. When God calls you to do something HE gives you the ability and the provision to do it. But God wants to see if you have enough faith to operate in the task before HE sends the provision.

What do you have in your hand?

A mic, a voice, a song in your heart and a talent which is a gift from GOD. You can sing in church, join the poetry ministry, start a youtube channel, participate in open mics for GOD’S glory until GOD enlarges your coast.

When God called Moses to lead the children of Israel from Egypt, Moses didn’t think that he could do it. Moses didn’t feel adequate, had no confidence and didn’t feel like he had what he needed to complete the task. But then GOD asked Moses in 

Exodus 4:2 (KJV)

2 And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said A rod.

Also known as THE ROD OF GOD- the shepherd stick that Moses had in his hand which GOD worked through to do many miracles such as the parting of the red sea.

On the other hand, DAVID had the right attitude when it came to using what was in his hand. He didn’t wait for Saul to get him armor that fit right or say I can’t fight Goliath until I get some better weapons. David used five smooth stones and a sling to kill Goliath. {1samuel 17:40 } David used what he had in his hand and trusted GOD to work through it and give him the ability to kill Goliath. 

What is it that God has called you to do that you haven’t done? Take the small thing that you do have, which may seem insignificant to you, use it and allow GOD to work through it until HE brings your desire or the vision that HE has given you to pass. SO, WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HAND???
