“Prayers are deathless. They outlive the lives of those who uttered them.”― E.M. Bounds

Prayer is one of the essential aspects of the Christian life, and it is the key to what the world is looking for, and what the Church requires to revolutionize it. You have to revolutionize this world; we must take prayer and put it more of a priority in our lives and stop focusing on benign and frivolous things in the realm of the Spirit. We are human beings living in a supernatural world with natural limitations; the only way intervention can occur in dire situations is to pray for God to bend the natural laws of this world and send His supernatural power. For you to cause this level of intervention, you must first know the limitations of each dimension, and this will require you to understand the language of God. The language of God is far more than what is verbalized but reaches to all aspects of your life.

Prayer is only one vehicle for communication between you and the Lord. It is one of the more effective and most potent. To understand the limits of prayer, we must look at the law of the First Mention. Where-ever a theme or concept is first mentioned in scripture, and it becomes how God originally intended it to be in its purest form. The first mention of the word pray is located in Genesis 20:7.

Now, therefore, restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that shalt surely die, thou and all that are thine.

In this discord, we see how limitations are presented in prayer. There is communication between God and Abimelech. However, God will only receive communication from his prophet Abraham when it concerns God’s decision to restore Abimelech and the rest of his household. The limitations of this conversation is apparent, many people can speak to God, and God can speak to anyone; however, when it comes to decisions that need to be made in the Heavens, God will only hear from those he has selected.

This type of communication and the parameters of God’s authority will be given to you when you truly understand why God has selected you to intercede and pray. As you are being developed as an intercessor, you must come to realize that your importance to God intervening relies on your knowledge of who you are and what you possess.

I want to leave this nugget of information with you that will help you understand more about parameters, wisdom, and your prayer language.

The garden of Eden is a very precarious and momentous occasion second only to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We find that in the garden many things take place. It is the place where we can figure out the origins of what we are, how we are, and what we do. We see Adam given the unique ability to name all of the living creatures that God has created. We also see that God brings every creature to Adam for him to name. This act of God is intriguing because we see that God designs, yet man designates. Here we see that God is giving Adam the distinct creative ability to describe function, rank, order, and image. For Adam to have the ability to do that, he was given the divine power to understand how God’s creation functions, how it should function, how it should operate in conjunction with the environment. That type of knowledge is ordained by God. The battle between God’s kingdom and the demonic kingdom will collide over information and what man will designate to function in the earth.

Wisdom being the skillset of understanding how things function and how it should function. Wisdom was with God at the beginning, giving God the ability to create the cosmos in a functioning order (Proverbs 8:22-31; Proverbs 3:19). When you receive wisdom, you will understand how creation should function. Creation is crying out and communicating to the Heavens for you to manifest. Creation is waiting for you to intervene and designate function, rank, and order according to God’s design. God can speak to creation, and creation can cry out to God, but as the intercessor, you have to intervene, mediate, and bring designation. You have to provide the limits and the parameters of what can and cannot happen in God’s creation.

Your role is critical in this era. Prayer and intercession are far beyond just praying in your heavenly language. You have to pray with the understanding. You are needed in this time and this hour. I pray you will receive the wisdom necessary for you to effect change and bring God’s creation back to their designated function and purpose.

In Times Like These…

In light of everything that is occurring in our world today, we need to be encouraged. We are discovering new norms and our children are experiencing things many of us have never experienced in our lifetime. How do we calm fears and bring comfort? We pray. So, I offer this prayer for our world, for those who have been directly affected by this sickness, for those whose lives were taken because of it, to those who struggle in the loss of their loved one, for our children, for their education, for an unknown future, but also to a knowing God who is able to deliver us from all of this. In times like these, we pray…

Most Holy God,

From everlasting to everlasting, you are God. I submit this prayer, these petitions to you. We are walking in unknown territory. It is a land, a place that we have never walked before. We seek relief and yet see no immediate relief in sight. But in you Lord, there is nothing that is not known nor has anything caught you off guard. You are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in the time of trouble. So, it is not in man that we seek answers but to you the all-knowing God.

In this time there is a sense of hopelessness and yet we are confident that we are not without hope. It is your word that we rely on and have confidence. We pray for our world and for everyone that is suffering today, for those whose lives have been taken much too soon, for those who have lost loved ones, for our children, the need for them to continue their education. Especially for the children who may not have all of the resources they need as others. We pray for our teachers who have had to develop new skills in an effort to help our children not lose momentum. And for our healthcare workers who are on the front lines. Protect and watch over them and their families. We also pray for an unknown future, but we know by faith that our life is in Your hands and it is that assurance that brings us peace.

You, Lord, are more than able to deliver us, to provide a solution, a cure for what has befallen us. It has caused us to reassess our lives to determine what is important and more importantly, it has turned our attention to the One who is able to deliver us. We are reminded of your word that was true yesterday and holds true today; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” This is our prayer prayed in confident faith to You our ever-faithful God. Amen
